PORT ARTHUR, Texas — Booker T. Washington Elementary School in Port Arthur was put on a brief "secure in place" order Wednesday afternoon as per the Port Arthur Independent School District police chief. The order was put in place meanwhile the Port Arthur Police Department investigates a matter in the community surrounding the campus, according to a release from Port Arthur ISD. Port Arthur Police Chief Tim Duriso tells 12News officers were working a shooting at Louis Manor Apartments, located at 1300 Joe Louis Avenue nearby the elementary school.
